Magic Hat, South Burlington, VT
This is a very tasty amber coming out of Vermont. Again, Magic Hat is putting out a fall seasonal brew, along with their Saison. This brew comes in at a low 5.2% abv, making for a great beer to enjoy several of over the course of a cool autumn evening.
Aroma: Strong malty aroma, with hints of dark cherry and plum. Not much hop aroma.
Appearance: Deep red-brown in color, with a light visible carbonation. The head was light and pale in color, and fell quickly to a pale film over the beer.
Flavor: Light malty notes on the palate, with a strong bitterness overhanging the flavor. The end tastes of sweet maltiness.
Mouthfeel: Light, with a pleasant amount of carbonation. It flows well, without being cloying or too easy on the palate.
Overall impression: This brew is enjoyable and rather drinkable, with the perfect amount of malty sweetness and hoppy bitterness.
So you know what to look for…
