Mission St. Brown Ale

Aroma: Very malty aromas, with dark and crispy scents.  Caramel and dark fruit also comes in on the back end of the scent.

Appearance: Very dark brown, with a good carbonation.  The head was tan and a bit rocky, but came down and left a bubbly film over the beer.

Flavor: Very malty, without much hops.  The flavor is excellent.  There are hits of toasted malts, caramel, and some rich toffee flavors.

Mouthfeel: Light on the tongue, the carbonation is a bit powerful, but works well with this brew.  The flavor brings up the weight a bit, and the lack of hops lets it settle nicely on the palate.

Overall Impression: We are both fans of this beer.  It drinks well and doesn’t sit too heavy.
