Morning Glory Espresso Stout

Old Dominion Brewing Co., 9% abv

Aroma: Dark roasted malts sit lightly behind a strong espresso bitterness.

Appearance: Very dark in color, even in front of a light. There is a very light carbonation, barely noticeable. It raised a strong tan head that fell to a bubbly layer.

Flavor: Very nice malty flavors. There is a smokey, roasty flavor, followed up by a nice coffee finish. The flavors blend well, and present an excellent brew.

Mouthfeel: Very heavy on the tongue, with a light carbonation. The malts sit well with this brew.

Overall Impression: This is a great beer, with the best of many worlds. It has a great malty flavor, delicious coffee flavor, very high alcohol, and a bombshell on the label. (Jess picked this one up for me.)

Final Thoughts:

Hops:                    mug rating 1

Malts:                   mug rating 4.5

Flavor:                  mug rating 4.5

Overall:                 mug rating 4

Label:                   mug rating 5

As I said, Jess picked this one up, both because of what is it, and because of the label!
