Zombie Killer Cherry Cyser

B. Nektar Meadery

This is an apple honey wine with cherry juice added in, and is a naturally gluten free product. This batch kicks in at 6% abv.

Aroma: Strong scent of apple and cherry on the nose. The honey doesn’t make itself immediately apparent though.

Appearance: Pale pink in color, with very light carbonation. There was no head, but it is labeled as “wine” as opposed to beer.

Flavor: Very forward with the apple cider, the cherry flavor lingers on the tongue. The honey is very light, noticed as a light sweetness on the edges. A little tart in a good way.

Mouthfeel: Light on the tongue, with a light carbonation. The sweetness is a little cloying, but in a very nice way; and the acidity breaks through in a very nice way.

Overall Impression: This is very tasty. The flavors meld well and the mixture is very good, probably why it was the Mazer Cup winner in 2011.
